Description of Swallows use of materials (Above: Handshaking)
The use of materials in this piece of work is basic yet holds a strong relationship between its environment and the actually handshaking of the bones. The human bone material has been cleaned and layered with some sort of glossy paint, this gives it an extra effect. The bones are coloured with the environment plain white. The bones are the simplest form of body which enables the audience to engage with such a simple handshake, the materials are basic yet can possess strong morals.
Description of Nolan's use of materials (Below: Desert)
The artwork of Nolan's uses watercolour to reveal aspects of the desert that are evident to the audience, the sandy texture is displayed widely throughout the entire painting and therefore is the key feature that decribes the setting being deserted or a sand-like landscape. The artwork also displays a connection between the land and the sky, the colours and strokes of the brush give the sky and land a sense of aliveness that is also displayed throughout the artwork. Finally the colouring of the elements of the picture gives us the idea of the roughness or smoothness of the objects present, this is how the artist has presented his materials in the artwork.

2 Stair Sections Designed for the first Sketchup Model
SWALLOWS: likes to keep things at their finest levels, didnt actually use this in the 1st sketchup model however did create a similar spiral stair case which depicts the original design.
NOLAN: best artworks were those of simplicity, therefore this design shows how unique a staircase can be with a very primitive approach..again this design has been modified to adjust to the model created earlier
